Eight years in my cellar. Big boy wine. Needs 90 minutes in the decanter. Inky. World class wine. 15.5% but no problem, wears it well. Complexity off the charts. Every sip was different. Coffee, smoke, blueberry, Peppercorns, gorgeous acid. Fine tannins. Youthful at 12 years. — 21 days ago
High at 16% natural taste Anita loved it — 4 years ago
From Yamagata, Japan.
Daiginjo…46 % milling rate…(senmai buai)
Bright water white clear in colour.
Nose of bright cantaloupe musk melon.
Flavours of yellow Asian pear, quince and persimmon…(kaki)
This nihon shu is dry but the most impressive feature is the all encompassing creaminess and mouthfeel.
We had local Albacore tuna sashimi with local Matsutake mushrooms cooked in rice from Hokkaido, Japan. — 11 days ago
Almost no breathing required. Very light on the palette and refreshing. — 2 years ago
Nice, dry. Unoriginal but pleasant enough. Wouldn’t complain if I was served it, but wouldn’t seek it out. Purchased via Naked. — 4 years ago
Really enjoyed how smooth and easy it was to drink! Cool experience and unique wine — 18 days ago
Lighter tannins, and softer. But boy does it pack a nose! Dark cherries, figs, leather and wood. Nice long fruity finish. — 2 years ago
An easy everyday Bordeaux as it’s affordable. Very fruit forward with spice but finish is lacking. — 4 years ago
