Boulder Falls Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Tasted right after finishing the 2009 Bear Crossing. This was also excellent and drinking well. An interesting comparison between the two. While the Bear Crossing had more depth, this one had greater breadth to the palate. Could be that this is ultimately a slightly better wine than the Bear Crossing and that it will gain some more weight in the next couple of years. Doesn’t much matter to me, though, since these were the only bottles of these two wines that I had in the cellar. Both excellent wines, though. Enjoy! — a year ago

South of France Rosé Cinsault 2020

More complicated than most roses I’ve had. Something herbal, thankfully not too sweet. Not sure how ashamed I should be in admitting I dropped an ice cube in this while enjoying a patio dinner on a warm Boulder evening. — 3 months ago

Domaine Jamet

Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2013

Off the Frasca list in Boulder. Dark garnet, opaque. Luscious nose. Notes of black cherry, smoked meat, slate stone, blood oranges. With air some kirsch develops. Rich and round in the mouth. Tannins are in the background. With air this grew to show a bit of heat and the kirsch thing took over. Liked this more in the beginning. Probably in a funk right now. — 2 years ago
