First of a case of this Guigal St. Joseph ‘Lieu-dit’ 2015 that I recently bought. I knew this would appear youthful, but my god is it so. I’ve experienced this austere, closed-down nature with young Bordeaux before but never Rhône. This is a superb wine in the making, phenomenal in its presence on the palate, less so on the nose at this stage. A formidable amount of tannin, acidity and fruit with a lasting finish. 92 points is duly conservative for now, but I shall leave my next encounter with this wine for another few years and expect this score to increase.
Enjoyed of an evening with the old man. Food pairing was lamb shoulder, followed later by black bomber cheese that - worthy of note - was superb with this wine. — 7 years ago
A delicate bomber. Leather and chocolate and tobacco but in proportion, leading but never overwhelming. Delightful, ready for more. — 8 years ago
On the nose, this feels really fresh... Bright cherry and blackberry... Maybe blueberry? On the palate, the floral side comes through... Violets play with the blackberries, but not in a big huge bomber style... Quite delicate... Some bramble intertwined with the tannin here... Bark... We enjoyed this wine so much with our Christmas beef stew... A nice length that fit the Christmas theme with spice... Memories of visiting the winery several years ago... — 4 years ago

One of the famous Woot Cellars wines. Excellent with a few extra years in the bottle. — 8 years ago
Hard to go wrong and to enjoy this with this many friends bumped up the rating. Incredibly generous by @Jason Cutrer to bring a bottle of this and the 12. Who does that?!?! Super special. I’m putting this above the 12 and the 23 we had later in the night. Atmosphere had a lot to do with it. And to the attempted photo bomber Sherry - #fail!!!! — 9 years ago

Iron filings, umami, and blood. Elegant, Complex, but not without weight and purity. Special. With Bomber Reilly — 9 years ago

Peeling back the yeasty onion that is weissbier on day two of the mad bomber ADVENTure. Orange peel and grapefruit and even a little mustard seed have joined the procession. You can imagine the pretzel bread and pickles. It is truly a meal in a canister, for a “pounder” is a liquid lunch. Mustard-bread sensation persists on the palate with a sourdough and yeast tanginess that is texturally effervescent. Sour cream and onion are now the shadows, but no less real. Tremendous evocation of Germanic flavors in this beer, and nice secondary citrus notes. Classic weissbier, but with so much more! Super!

Pairs well with Italian food and this photo bomber. — 7 years ago
Schrader のセカンドDouble Diamond。Bomber Xを過去に飲んだが、非常に好印象だったので、畑違いのAmber Knollsを。非常に希少性が高いので見つけたら飲む事をお勧めします! — 9 years ago
Wow. This was a bad idea. A quad. This should knock you on your ass. That would protect you from slamming a bottle of this monstrous 14% ABV beer and passing out where you are standing. However, this is crazy smooth for a bomber overhopped IPA. I drank the whole bottle. Basically like drinking an entire bottle of Cabernet on your own. Let's just say I had a small headache the next day. Drink this. For the love of Pete, do it carefully. (And in the safety of your own home) — 9 years ago

Grapes from Red Hills Lake County. Lots of structure on top of cassis, blackberry, licorice, and cinnamon. Great concentration and consistency for Cali Cab in this range. Might be too broad shouldered for your average fruit bomber. — 2 years ago
