Medium garnet core , quite narrow terracotta rim . Spiced earthy summer fruits, blackberry , cherry , blackcurrant , some herbal hints , vanilla , tobacco, grafite and iodine. On the palate this is quite fine boned , with refreshing acidity and medium ripe , rounded tannins , balanced alcohol . More herbal and dark fruited on the palate , blackcurrant , blackberry and cherry , spiced vanilla tinged dark cherry . Tobacco and grafite tinged medium length finish . Still drinking well , this is at peak now so drink over the next 2-3 years . — 3 months ago
New vintage release tasting at Vega Sicilia in Ribera del Duero. The 2015 Unico presented an elegant profile, while the 2020 Valbuena showcased a bolder character. Traditionally, Unico is known for its power and structure, whereas Valbuena tends to be the more refined and elegant wine. Staff assured me it is not a reversal in winemaking techniques but rather a juxtaposition of their respective vintages. — 24 days ago

Amazing wine — a month ago
Blend of 95% Tempranillo with 5% Garnacha and Graciano, aged for 26 months in new French oak, 70 year-old vines. Deep Ruby color with aromas of fruit, earthy spiced and woodsy notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with cedar, tobacco, leather and smoky notes. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, tobacco, toasty cedar and earthy mineral character. — 17 hours ago
