Bodegas Muga

Torre Muga Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2014

Before ‘14, last vintage was ‘11, no ‘12 or ‘13. Deep Ruby a blend 70% Tempranillo, 20% Graciano & 10% Mazuelo, aged new French oak for 15 months (‘11 was 24 mos). Ripe red fruit aromas with floral, oak & pepper spice. On palate ripe red fruit flavors, complex with layers of fruit & spice, noting espresso, cacao & licorice. Fine tannins, well balanced, long finish ending with fruit, spice and oak. Decant or let sit in the cellar for a while. Nice! Tried several ‘14’s. — 11 days ago

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2017

Brilliant light ruby color. Upon opening very shy nose, pronounced acidity, sandy/powdery tannins and bright red currant/red cherry/granberry taste. After 2h the wine starts to open and the nose picks up the Nebbiolo typical wonderfull mix of flowers complemented by cherry, cool tones bit like menthol and red currant. Palate remains tight but full of promise. As good as this is, it still falls behind thw excellwnt 2016 torre in sheer depth and fruit intensity. I take this will reach prime drinking in 2-3 years so nice cellar defender when waiting the 2016 — a month ago

Torre de Oña

Finca San Martin Crianza Rioja Tempranillo 2017

Delectable Wine
9.0

Cherry, black raspberry and floral qualities define this classic Rioja from the famed La Rioja Alta bodega. Juicy and mid-weight, the 2017 shows classic American and French oak spice character and gentle, even tannins that make it delicious right now. $17.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, March 2021) — 2 months ago

Tiberi

La Torre Bianco Umbria Trebbiano Blend 2018

Diluted yellow highlighter color; farmy farmy farmy farmy goodness on the nose with a hint of petrol and bleu cheese. Silly but high acid, creamy. Spring freshly cut grass, a bit of salted butter and the teeniest hint of honeysuckle. — 16 days ago
