Blue Slate Kabinett Mosel Riesling 2023

Fresh, fruity and juicy, with sweetness balanced by acidity. Low alcohol and quaffable, perfect for a warm day. Pairs exceptionally well with corned beef and cabbage. Nice find at Costco. 2023 vintage. — 10 days ago

This lovely Pinot Noir shows a compelling aroma of clove, cherry, raspberry, black tea with soft tannins and a refreshing finish. I’d drink it again! — 5 months ago

Always one of my favorites. The 06 is a beutiful wine. Black and blue fruit, great minerality, tender tannins, wonderfully balanced. Regal texture, just wonderful with my steak tonight. The 06 are drinking wonderfully now. Always a pleasure! — 17 days ago

Huge wine. Took several hours to open up but had intense and beautiful blue and black fruit aromas.

Monopole Blue Top Brut Champagne Blend

Scratches that itch. Hard to tell whether it’s a “true champagne” or a very good cremant, but at closeout prices who cares? 90. — 7 months ago

Vincent Dauvissat

Les Preuses Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2012

Dauvissat perfection. 2012 Preuses is in an amazing spot, riveting, chiseled, textural and pure with classic Chablisen oyster shell minerality in a tidal wave of spiced orchard fruit, lilies and the slightest nutty edge. It’s incredibly silky on the palate showing killer density without weight. Lasers of racy citrusy acids and a long saline finish round it out. Fabulous showing. — a month ago

Domaine François Raveneau

Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

Again I had this at a friends tasting last Sunday afternoon. No notes taken but I recall more honeyed and mature than Chablis oyster shell characteristics. I should add that Penfolds 1990 707 in the image to the right was exceptional. Drinking at its peak from a good vintage with still some years to go. 97 points for the 707. — 6 months ago
