De la mûre au nez entre autres et faisant plus rive droite et merlot à la première impression. Bel équilibre en bouche, rien ne cloche, Encore assez puissant mais avec des tannins quand même très approchables, belle finale ayant de la poigne mais avec un petit côté un peu rustique. 90-91

Blind tasting lunch 2009 theme. Called right bank, totally missed as it had a more Merlot like nose and some blackberries and some violets. Still powerful with grippy tannins, but overall good balance, just a slightly rustic finish. — 4 years ago

Petite peur à l’ouverture, je voyais que le bouchon avait légèrement coulé et en plus il s’est brisé mais tout est rentre dans l’ordre au premier nez! 🙏 À l’ouverture c’est discret, on perçoit uniquement les fruits rouges, en bouche également. Apres quelques temps en carafe, on pourrait facilement se croire sur la Rive-Droite à Bordeaux. En bouche, les fruits rouges sont encore présents,

C’est riche, soyeux, le vin devient extrêmement structuré après 2 heures en carafes, tannins fermes mais pas asséchant, acidité présente sans être gênante, la finale est longue. Rien n’accroche. Absolument Wow! Sure son X, et finalement il n’en testait plus le lendemain.

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!

Inky in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose of fresh cherries, plums, currants, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates and black pepper.

Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, spices, toast, licorice, chocolates, tobacco herbs, earth and light vinaigrette.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty Merlot from Napa Valley. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and very complex.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

This 12 year old Single Vineyard Merlot is nicely balanced and still drinking at its peak.

Good by itself or with food.

A blend of 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc.

14.6% alcohol by volume.

Takes time to open but does to a clearly right bank style, some dark fruit, violets and some oak but without excess, the palate is dense and rich without any heavyness, nice volume with tannins that still show some power but qith such a nice silky texture, very Pomerol in stulw. It is a very good bottle without being grand.

Prend du temps à se livrer mais s’ouvre sur un style clairement rive droite. Des notes de fruits noirs, de la violette aussi, une touche de bois bien dosée, la bouche est dense et riche sans être lourde, un beau volume, des tannins puissants mais qui ont cette belle texture veloutée. C’est très bon voire plus sans être grandiose par contre. 92-93 — 5 years ago

Wine has been decanted (like most I drink) for 3 hours.
Deep saline cured cassis, coriander, mojito mint, licorice, and touches of Croatian sour cherry preserves.
Long chains of cedar tannins and light acidity.

No formal notes but a superb rive droite nose, a perfectly balanced palate with a bright fruit and some wood and vanilla yes but not overwhelming and rather well integrated already. Long finish with currant and vanilla. Great effort — 7 years ago

Fridge for an hour, then an hour in the decanter. Smooth as silk and well balanced. Was up against the Rive Droite so a tough competition. Would absolutely seek this one out. — 10 years ago

Decanted 90 minutes. Very dark opaque colour. Nose with dark fruits, some black currant early on but some spices as well and some oak. Tasted blind the nose seems more CNP then Right Bank. Palate is dense, powerful, nice acidity in the middle, ripe fruit, volume and depth along with a delicious finish with a slight dryness. Very good but there is a little bit of warmth to it caused by alcohol that makes the whole balance very slightly out of sink with the rest. 90-91

Carafé 90 minutes. Couleur foncée et opaque. Fruits noirs, cassis aussi, du bois un peu. Fait plus CNP que Rive Droite au nez. Bouche délicieuse, puissante, dense, du volume, belle acidité en millieu de bouche, finale est assez longue, un peu asséchante et une touche alccoleuse qui affecte un peu l’équilibre d’ensemble. Très bien malgré tout, mais pas certain que ca deviendra grand. 90-91 — 6 years ago
