QPR-wise, this wine is a 9.8. Nose is a 9.7. With cranberry cheddar, this wine is a 9.9. With dinner, it bows down a bit too much...9.1. By itself, it's a little thin...9.1. Complementary wine but do NOT drink without fare. 100% Piedmont Ruché, this wine has a great rose petal floral and red berry perfume nose. I THINK this is what the label says as well, but my Italiano isn't so bueno. Entry of red berry fruits, cola, mint, Lee's acidic than I thought it would be. Middle is more black cherry but retaining all of the front character. Finishes rather soft by itself and with food. Dried herb and walnuts peaking in. NICE. Been holding off as I thought this one was done. Grabbed another bottle to open when this one was declared dead...that one will have to wait another night! In the sweet spot right now. — 7 years ago
In my humblish opinion, Italian white wines, at least at this price point, or even considerably higher lack finesse. This wine overturns that theory. Simply put; awesome and aromatic. Underipe stone fruit, citrus, mineral, and a slight bit of CO2, which lifts the flavors to the stratosphere. Currently, at my fav Italian spot , having Rosemary roasted chicken. The acidity in this vino is cutting through the chicken skin like a torch. Me is happily in the in the grips of the Italiano food wine buzz zone. Impressive! Shows like a modern style Barolo, at a Langhe price. Beautifully tannic with in your face dried fruit and rose petals. Decant or lay this beauty down for a few years. Either way, you'll be rewarded with a great wine experience. Italiano reds, is there anything better!? — 9 years ago
Iron, tomato leaf, cherry, sage. Classic Italiano. Delivers that wonderful red fruit and balance that Sangiovese does. Tannins are still kicking. This one has some time to go to peak, but still delicious now. — 4 years ago
Sto cercando alcune botteglie da questo domaine a NY. L’ho trovato al ristorante italiano in Soho. Molto buono anche pinot griggio sarebbe piu acidita di solito per me. E equibilibrato in gusto. Mi piacerebbe Vie di romance. Spero che posso avere di nuovo presto. — 7 years ago
Crudo italiano $160 needs time to decant. Solid rioja, Ned to long finish — 7 years ago
We had this with flank steak Italiano. It worked beautifully. Somewhat light-bodied for a Brunello, but absolutely delicious nonetheless. Typical mushroom, tart cherry and tobacco notes for a Sangio. — 8 years ago
