Not as big as top Brunellos go, but medium weighted with mushroom and leather notes with good sangio fruit.

This 2004 Brunello is drinking beautifully right now. Dark fruits with herbal notes and some anise.

We had this with flank steak Italiano. It worked beautifully. Somewhat light-bodied for a Brunello, but absolutely delicious nonetheless. Typical mushroom, tart cherry and tobacco notes for a Sangio.

Much better than a few years ago. Rich and smooth style but clearly Brunello. Nice nose. #Pietranera 2004

Cherry, full bodied. Minimal tannins. Drinking great now. Would not hold much longer
