Nose: dusty. Cedar. Light leather. Boysenberry, cherries. Plum. Pencil shavings. Taste: rich plum, Smokey oak, cedar, dark chocolate, coffee finish. Some herbaceous notes. Cherry. Smooth but rich. Med+ body, medium acid and tannin, dry. Me likey. — 5 years ago
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries, light cedar, tobacco and chocolates.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and fruit forward with blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, toast, light vanilla, spices, dark chocolates, licorice, coffee, light earth and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a young Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Already drinking beautifully, but needed 3 hours to open up properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.
Fruit forward with nice complexity and a nice mouthfeel. Interesting and entertaining.

A good sipping wine that paired beautifully with my New York Strip steak.
A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, 2% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. Aged for 18 months in (60% new) French Oak barrels.
14.9% alcohol by volume.

Second time it’s been a lit sweet and almost to the point of over aged. Need to drink this sooner. Still excellent but losing the optimal taste on the finish. — 2 months ago
Good but still not the best of these options. — 3 months ago
Pleasantly surprised. Still dusty but good. A bit tanic. — 7 months ago
Excellent drink. Needs to be decanted even at 25 years old. Drink now — 8 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 1996 Belle Epoque pours a deep straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is vinous with generous white peaches, raspberries, white tree flower, marzipan and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. The 1996 balance of acid and ripeness is so special. This gained energy with air. Drink now through 2036. Disgorged May of 2004. — 20 days ago

Very good but better when we decant. This one isn’t my favorite m liked. Deeper fruit. Dark. — 7 months ago
Deep ruby medium opacity, medium body, currants and sweet cherries, solid Syrah — 10 months ago
Solid and definitely needed the aerator but aging well. Will be excellent in a few years. Deep and earthy. Lots of dark fruit. — 5 years ago

The house style is still here with ripe, slightly over extracted blue fruits, baking spices, cocoa, and a plush velvety palate. But the fruits become less confectionary and some savory components have emerged. Acidity seems more apparent. Really nice integration.
I think Pinot bottlings from Belle Glos are at their best with 5-8 years bottle aging. This is another proof. — 4 days ago
