Typically brilliant #chianticlassico 85% #sangiovese 15% #merlot. Red / violet floral + woodsy nose, classic earthy-iron varietal aroma, bright acidity, soft tannins and a bit of roundness courtesy of the Merlot, some spice on the finish. Brilliant pairing with Chicken Paillard topped with blue cheese which brought out the spice in the wine, interestingly enough. — 2 months ago
Great ca zin. Blackberries galore, red apples, some earth and forest. Great acidity but still a rich zin. This is such an underrated winery. — a month ago
Good structure, drinkable from just opening. Smooth one. Black currant and fruits. Balanced body. Later on slightly feel coffee like bitterness. 2021 @145, SD, 240325 — a month ago
Great wine. Tried as a sample at H‑E‑B and loved it. Not too sweet. Has a Smokey semisweet flavor. Also reasonable price - around $12.00 — 6 months ago
— a month ago
High acid, medium bodied and tannins. Petrol, black fruits, and barn yard on the nose. — 2 months ago
Intense, brooding, and complex nose. Dark cherry, plum, sandalwood, and charcuterie. The palate is med/full bodied, med acidity and delivers quite opulent sour cherry and plum fruit. Smoke and chocolate on the end palate. Very long. A bit heavy relative to a burgundy, but the flavour profile, complexity, and length do not disappoint. — 5 months ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Martinelli family has been farming in Sonoma County since 1860. Deep Ruby color with aromas of red berry fruit and sweet spices. On the palate ripe cherry and blueberry flavors, with some dried fruit notes, oak, cinnamon spice and cola tones. Fine mouth coating tannins with balanced acidity carry this rich wine to a long finish. Good now will age a bit! — 8 days ago
