Anyone ever done a Myriad v Quivet v Becklyn comparison?

@Paul T- Huntington Beach none of my Becklyn’s get that kind of bottle age. Bet that was a stellar bottle. Pretty sure you turned me on to this producer 4-5 years ago.

@Shay A I probably have, but it’s been purely accidental. Personally, I think Becklyn’s show better earlier while myriad and quivet tend to require more age, but others likely have a different stance here. I think everything Mike does is stellar so it’s really just nitpicking. Good to see you guys posting - I’ve been MIA and hope to get back into the groove again.

First vintage where i prefer myriad, quivet, and becklyn over the scarlett. Not big tannins so probably not an ager but it’s tight on opening that gives a sense of thinness. Double decanted it back in the bottle and it has more viscosity. Tastes pretty good now — 5 years ago

Tasted side by side with the 15 Becklyn NV and the 15 Quivet NV.

Super dark purplish red. Tight I start in the nose but then opened up with cassis, blackberries and sweet spices. Medium plus (7.5/10) and rounded full body. Dark fruits on the palate with sweet spices, brown sugar, blueberries, aniseed and crushed gravel. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2027. (92+) — 6 years ago
