Enjoyed during Shiverick Trade Show Dinner — 3 years ago
This is the Lutruwita Pinot Noir made by Chatto - not in your database Delectable and understandably so. Bought this today at the Bruny Island Cheese company who make the only raw milk cheese in Australia. This wine was a pale crimson in colour. Nose shows that dried cherry, Sous Bois, whole bunch influences you get from Tasmanian Pinot which makes them so attractive. This is in the lighter palate spectrum. Made by Jim Chatto, one of Australia’s more accomplished winemakers who was the Chief Winemaker at Mount Pleasant, Hunter Valley, before moving to Tasmania like so many in the wine trade and now produces CHATTO Pinot Noir very successfully. — 5 years ago
I don’t know if this is what Ramonet gets for their Chevy in trade for Batard but it certainly didn’t have the Ramonet mint/menthol. A lean balanced very clean rendition, lemon and other citrus, great texture and finesse, not real powerful but very persistent and enjoyable. Very light on its feet, it has a litheness I love about Chevalier. — 5 years ago
I am such a fan of Priority and Carles does such a consistently amazing job. This 2016 has deep tobacco flavors with the earthy tones of Grattallops. I will not trade this wine for anything in the new world. @closlobac — 6 years ago
Rarely try an Argentinian Syrah but here we have one - courtesy of Marcus who has been in the wine trade for 40 years in the Cotswolds. This was medium to full bodied with a savoury Northern Rhone aspect to it with a touch of raspberry on the second day. Enjoyable. — 7 years ago

Gambero Rosso Tre bicchieri l 🇮🇹 trade tasting, even more 💪 — 4 months ago
Cherry fruit nose with a hint of floral. Medium tannins and well balanced. Enjoyable, will get again. — 2 years ago
The weekend upon us and we're hosting another dinner party for a couple of friends. Tonight's theme was Rhone wine, so good stuff on deck, with age.
Notes pending... (Entertaining guests first 😉)
Absolutely perfect, yet only coming into it's zone, decade to go here...
Notes from +24H open:
Nose has ripe cherry, dried cherry, dried blackberry, red velvet cake, ripe plum and dry, mineral-ly earth.
Palate has silky-sweet cherry, ripe red currant, (light) cigar wrapper, dried cherry, faint eucalyptus, faint wood notes, dry earth, faint iron notes on the long finish. Mild tannins persist today. Expect to enjoy this vintage another +10Y when held in proper storage.
This bottle was singing at the top of its register last night, slightly diminished today. Absolutely perfect cork, no Durand required for extraction. Acquired a mere two years ago, from a local retailer beginning to close down his shop. He purchased a case on release, stored in his cold cellar; when I got to hunting it only a single bottle remained.
I've had the 2000 vintage before, and it was a treat in a more youthful stage, but a delicacy with our meal last night. We baked a 3lb beef tenderloin (Kinderhook Farm; Valatie, NY) coated in an herb paste then an herbed panko crumb crust with parmesan. About a 50m cook, 30m rest yeilded a perfect 130° center. Served alongside smashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts with thick cut bacon. We had fantastic company, connecting again with a wine trade friend and his wife after a few years break in our dining schedules. — 5 years ago

Best white at last week’s trade tasting. — 7 years ago
2019 vintage. Last tasted 3.8.25 (9.6) and 8.19.23 (9.5). Excellent fill and great cork. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes. Small amount of chunky sed. Medium-heavy body but starting to slowly thin out. Excellent colo(u)r. Alongside the roasted nuts and smoked meats flavors, this drops a current cola-nut driven finish. Smooth and harmonious. Love this producer along with a nod to consumers/wine trade for keeping these ridiculous pricings down. 10.10.25. — 9 months ago
Drank with Vince before Elton John. Ashely crashed moms car. Wine is delicious. Would buy again — 4 years ago
2019 vintage nice and smooth but a bit of a pucker. Actually went super well with grilled fish! — 5 years ago
Full body cab. Notes of cherry, plum, oak and slight smokiness. Great — 5 years ago
Absolutely loved it. Complex but easy to drink. We had Volume 4. — 6 years ago
Carlos Pastrana and Clos L'Obac may be my favorite wine maker and winery of the decade. Sharing with the wife and wine trade daughter Aly. Tobacco, dates, dried fruit a big boy wine that finishes a great 60th Bday — 6 years ago
Can you ever have too many Burgundies to taste? Wonderful trade tasting. The Gros Frere et soeur wines don’t get additional sulphur so they seem older and wilder than many of the wines at the tasting. The Vougeot has the stuffing to balance the wildness. — 7 years ago
