Beautiful wine. Presents as a cross of burgundy Pinot Noir and Sangiovese. Dusty cherry and strawberry on the palate like Sangiovese. Light tannins like Pinot. Welcome medium acidity to make it its own. — 9 months ago
Outstanding dessert wine. Rich, not too sweet. Beautiful amber color. — 5 years ago
Library 2015s courtesy of Adam via Wine Merch. Cherry, hints of tobacco and cocoa. All the edges nicely softened. Great with Casa Don Alfonso. — 3 years ago
Bellísimo! Eucalyptus gave way to lavender and cocoa. Tightly wound cherry with long tannic finish. Had with frito misto, gnocchi pomodoro, margherita pizza and herb rack of lamb at Casa di Don Alfonso. First indoor meal in >1 year. Was like riding a bike. — 5 years ago
Deep amber. Nuts and sweet caramel. Oak. Dry, then deep. Matured. A bit sweet is better? Gonzalez Byass Alfonso Seco Oloroso @2680, F, 250629-250701 — 5 months ago
Very quaffable! Fruity, not much tannin. Guess I’m in a punchy mood. Paired well with spring salad, pasta, and asparagus. 2021 vintage — 7 months ago
An airy, effusive and downright beautiful wine is the 2018 Taganan from the Tenerife Envínate property of modernist Spanish winemakers Laura Ramos, Jose Martínez, Roberto Santana and Alfonso Torrente. Created from 100-200 year old vines on volcanic soils, it’s a delicate, restrained wine with a gorgeous, smoky bouquet of sour cherry, strawberries and Provençal herbs; the palate, meanwhile, is saturated with very fine tannins, almost imperceptible acidity and nice length. Served lightly chilled, this is an exciting wine which should gain further interest with age. — 3 years ago

Opened and let the wine breathe while our roast cooked. Aromas of dark berries that linger after a sip. Good tannin structure and acidity. Would cellar nicely. Went well with our beef pot roast. — 2 days ago
