Dunnes 21/06/25 27€ 2021
Drank 27-30/6/25. Wore well. Lovely simple taste — a year ago
This wine is very dark. It looks that way and it smells that way, too. The nose offers a funky, earthy, dare I say barnyard-y package of aromas. The fruit that is there, the blackberry, currant, and black plum, is muted and dwarfed by the savory smells. Tar, creosote, forest floor, and cigars are the main event. The palate bears much more fruit. Flavors of dark berry, black currant, plum, black cherry, elderberry and black Mission fig all vie for attention. The mouthfeel is fairly elegant, which is surprising after the brute force of the nose. Fine tannins and a gentle acidity will make a nice pairing with meatballs in a Bolognese sauce or sautéed mushrooms. — a year ago
100% Sangiovese. Medium ruby color. Aromas of red cherry, red geraniums, tomato leaf and leather. Black cherry fruit leads the palate with additional notes of tobacco, minerals and savory spices. Long and earthy finish. Firm structure and tannins but extremely well balanced. Acidity is bright and well incorporated. Vibrant and elegant. A very pleasant surprise. Outstanding QPR! — a year ago

Crisp and bright with acidity with notes of pineapple, lemon, and a touch of pear. A brilliant summer taste with enough acid to hold up to rich white sauces. — a year ago

Nice winter super Tuscan. 2020 that was a bit dry at the every end, but quite nice - especially on half price wine night. $70/$35. — 5 months ago
