Wow. Big fan. Lots of bright red fruits like cherries and raspberries in the beginning. Great acidity. It is more earthy than I expected, but not unwelcome. I really appreciated the almost floral/rosy note that contrasts the brightness off the bat. Still pretty tannic, I imagine this would only get better with age. Tasted expensive. I have no clue how much it costs. Only improved with time/air as we ate dinner. Super cool to taste how it “opened up” and how it changed. — 4 months ago

I’d forgotten how very yummy Amarone was. Italian restaurant in Rome - they didn’t have the primitivo I wanted so tried this Classico 2020 instead. Very quaffable, rich notes went well with my lasagna. Bit like a warm hug and relatively low tannins. Now to see if I can find anything similar back in UK. — 6 months ago

Our only Amarone in the cellar! Was a gift from TDYers in Rome whom Vicki took under her wing. Surprisingly this was best right after opening- bright cherry, sharp acidity, soft tannin. After decanting and drinking over an hour or two, and the next two days, it expressed more burnt cherry and leather commensurate with its age. Paired well with a ham the parents sent for my birthday! — 6 years ago

Divides opinion but I thought this was super interesting. A touch of oak, vanilla and cherry on the nose, almost cola-esque. Bright fruits. Cherry & strawberry transforms into an almost Syrah-like depth with fine tannins. Exceptional. — 8 years ago
