The Road Less Traveled Tempranillo 2017

Very dark. Holy high alcohol Jim! 14.9%. Smells a bit like port, grandma’s fruit cake, & blackberry/black cherry jam. Also like Christmas. I heard that from somebody. This wine is all Christmas. Flavor is similar to nose. Toasty, toffee, smokey, slightly raisiny. It has a nice dry, earthy finish though. The ink and graphite hint late. It’s a unique, big Tempranillo, but it’s tasty and delicious. Best on a cold night as the last one... — a month ago

El Dorado Mourvedre 2014

I think this is William Allen’s first Mourvèdre from outside the RRV. Pomegranate, red plums, and brine aromas and flavors. Throw in some lavender and dried herbs, too. Acidity balances beside lean tannin and a medium body. — a month ago
