Ti amo the complexity and aftertaste of this Aglianico — 2 months ago
Daaaaaaang this is amazing! Pro ratings are too low. Tecce aromatics are so good. Flowers, iron, tar and macerated berries on the nose upon opening. Incredible balance of fruit and minerals with a metallic tone. Hint of licorice. I just opened it and it’s already so complex with little alcohol showing through. Lots of Mediterranean herbs, hay and grape stems on the finish, with a nicely tannic bitter final note. Super long, easing into dusty dried fruit. Absolutely excellent. So smooth and drinkable for a 15-percenter. — 20 days ago
Powerful and intense wine that suffered from a slight bit of taint. — 9 days ago
Tecce is one of my favorite Italian producers. The 2022 Satyricon doesn’t disappoint. Opens up after 3-4 hours. Dried flowers, cherries and charcoal on the nose. Lovely aromatics. Tart cranberries with blackberries. Sharp minerality, mouth-puckering tannins, astringent, dry, dusty and savory long finish. Very long. Young. 14.5% abv, but it doesn’t feel overly full or heavy. I remember the 2020 being darker and more fruit-forward, but I could be wrong. — a month ago
This was sailing… meaty nose of rich burnt ends coupled with plum jam. Palate was viscous and mineral driven. S little too much acidity with a slightly citrus finish. Nice juxtaposition with the Siro, but this was always destined for second place tonight. — a month ago

If I could shower love on one varietal that doesn’t get enough love it would be this Aglianico. Dark small currants, blackberries & black plum on palate; smoke & camphor on nose. Pitch perfect balance between freshness & power, which I think is Aglianico ‘s great balancing act. Sweet drinking window now but this has legs too—-oh, & price is an absurd 30$ for this quality of wine & winemaking. — 3 days ago
