Zenith Pinot Noir 2008

Happy coincidence to have the 08 and 10 separately on the same day. So different. 08 has more weight, fruit is riper, darker. The 10 is lighter, more red fruited, spice box driven. Wines are both great, 08 has a longer life ahead of it probably. — 4 months ago

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Rosé 2018

First summery day of the year, so cracked this one open. The label promised “fresh strawberry and raspberry aromas”, but does it deliver? Salmon pink with orange tinge, excellent clarity. Not much in the nose initially. Strawberry and raspberry flavors, later, a touch of bubble gum emerges. Mineral finish, good acidity, slightly lactic. Dry to off-dry. A good start to warm weather. — 2 months ago

Deep red. Smokey flavor with blackberries and dark cherries. Another lovely wine from one of my favorite wineries for Pinot Noir. — 4 months ago

Very smooth and luscious! Dark berries, vanilla, and earthiness. Not my usual style of PN but this is good stuff. — 3 months ago

Elizabeth's Reserve Yamhill Carlton Pinot Noir 2010

This wine is both elegant and intense, offering layered aromas of red raspberries, fresh Oregon strawberries, brown spice and cedar. Its aromas are reflected on a palate that speaks of purity and elegance, and is exceptionally balanced with silky tannins and a persistent finish. The winery identifies this as “the best barrels from our best lots.” Supple and streaked with chocolate and caramel, this explosion of cherry, cassis, cola and Dr. Pepper contains sneaky notes of tobacco and pepper threaded through the lingering finish. Richness and depth prevail throughout. Ripe, mature and fresh; profound with lively, balanced and rich flavors of black cherry; complex and long. Fresh, open-textured and appealing, with mint-accented blackberry and cherry flavors, remaining light and expressive through the minerally finish. — 3 months ago
