This wine is inky dark and almost black. It’s a meal.
Needs food and a dense pairing. We had chili
Whomever said this needs airtime is dead on. I gassed this with oxygen and let it breathe for 2 hours and it still was just beginning to show its fruit at the tail end.
I would aerate and give a solid 3-4 hour decant next time.

It’s hard not to love this wine. We should have decanted and probably drank this before dinner as opposed to force fitting it into the dinner. Could have held back since I suspected this would happen but I’m of the opinion that time is short and holding for the perfect moment that may not happen is not worth the risk. Pour and enjoy even if it’s not at the apex. — 2 months ago
Amazing. Powerful. Rich. Long. Luxurious. This is an impressive wine. So New World! Its immediate and in your face but it still has do many refined elements. Layered fruit, earth and heft. Blueberry. Graphite. Cassis. Long. Remarkable wine. … did I say long? — 6 months ago

Such rustic and funky wine! Love it. Pale color, forest floor, red fruits, and foxy. Good acidity and saline taste, medium length. Decant it at least an hour. — 2 years ago

1 hour decant(lots of fine/cloudy sediment). A gorgeous dark purplish murky magenta color. On the nose: Intoxicating notes burst from the glass with stewed dark fruit, planting soil, worn leather, menthol, herbaceous, spiced jerky. Taste : velvety, rich, savory mouthcoating wine with dark plum, black tea, cedar, crushed stone, smokey earth, and a spiced-graphite-dark chocolate medium plus finish. YUM! — 17 days ago
