Smoky nose, beautiful fruity finish. — 4 months ago
Full-bodied and rich with a fabulous bouquet. An outstanding wine to celebrate my birthday with an excellent prime rib. Dark fruits, dark chocolate, pomegranate, leathery, smokey, and earthy. A real treat. — 7 months ago

Really fun. No pretension just an easy wine to drink. — 7 years ago
Very dense and structured wine
Solid fruit and paired well with steak.
1-2 hours airtime on decanter absolutely helped. — 2 months ago
Fabulous. Son’s birthday dinner. Opened this and the Tor at the same time but saved this to go second thinking it needed more time on the decanter. Certainly more structured than the Tor with a lighter more restrained nose straight from the bottle but wow what power. With time that nose showed up and the bouquet leapt from the class. Classic delightful cab nose and dark fruit. Heavy, dense and oh so delicious on the palate. Finish lasted. This you knew was going to be great right from the start with a quick taste. Only got better with time and could have used even more than the 90 min decant. — 5 months ago
It’s hard not to love this wine. We should have decanted and probably drank this before dinner as opposed to force fitting it into the dinner. Could have held back since I suspected this would happen but I’m of the opinion that time is short and holding for the perfect moment that may not happen is not worth the risk. Pour and enjoy even if it’s not at the apex. — a year ago
Medium purple; medium plus intensity aromas of ripe black fruit, blackberry, black plum, plum skin, pomegranate, bramble, vanilla, baking spices, leather; dry, medium acid, medium plus tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium finish, rich dark fruit with heavy oak flavors, oak flavors dominate a bit, but very good — 7 years ago
Calistoga, CA vineyard. Sits 300 ft above valley floor. Planted 1992 by David Abreu and Heidi Barrett until 2008. Then Thomas Rivers Brown took over. Nearly $100/bottle — 7 years ago
+1 hour decant(lots of fine/cloudy sediment). A splendid still inky dark garnet with bricking. On the nose: expressive notes of dark red fruit, currants, smoked meat, tobacco leaf, scorched earth, nutmeg. Taste: silky, layered, rich wine with ripe blackberry/blueberry, earth, baking spice, chocolate, and a long minerally espresso never-ending finish. YUM!! — 3 months ago

Such rustic and funky wine! Love it. Pale color, forest floor, red fruits, and foxy. Good acidity and saline taste, medium length. Decant it at least an hour. — 4 years ago
