Similar notes from April 2020 when I last had it. A red fruited nose giving a lovely earthy perfume with Sous Bois influences. Loam, compost heap nose. Same red fruits on the medium weight palate with strawberry and a touch of raspberry. As Jasper Morris said in his book, Lavaux St Jacques is one of the cooler sites in Gevrey Chambertin. This is always the last Rousseau wine to be picked and enjoying a longer hang time. After a couple of hours, just a gorgeous nose. — 23 days ago
Lovely boutique dominated by floral notes (picked up violet), elegant with long finish. Ready to drink without breathing too long in the bottle. Impressive! — a day ago

I’m loving how the vintage is drinking, especially so from the top producers. Rousseau and Mugnier being my favorites. The 2013 Fuées is loaded with spice and violets and has such lovely purity of fruit that’s backed by a vibrant line of focused acidity and a cool mineral infusion. Excellent. — a month ago

A lot of nose. Some weight. A thick red fruited — 2 days ago
Third 90 Ponsot bottle served blind. This is bright tawny and translucent. When compared to the CSD served before it, this is more masculine with a dark cherry nose that is tight for the first 4-5 hours. By the time it’s served, though, it’s opened up and comes on as a rich and very powerful glass of juice. In addition to the regular notes of bing cherry, dark earth and rhubarb, this adds some mocha and a little cherry cola as well. Has a Rousseau-like precision in its delivery. From where it started to where it ended ~9 hours after opening, this evolved and improved the most. Great experience! (Bday 8 of 12) — a day ago
