The final bottle of the case. This wine is now darker and smokier on the nose with less of the blue fruit and more of the stewed black fruits. The palate still has wonderful acidity but is far less lush. Flavors of wet earth mingle with darker stewed plum and blackberries and lead to a bit of a shorter finish that shows a touch more puckering acidity. — 9 years ago

One of the most intense PN tasted. So rich and full bodied. One person ask if it was a Syrah. Vivid raspberry and floral notes on the nose. Cinnamon, lavender and rose petals fill the mouth. This wine has a sense of place and elegance that was liked by all. — 9 years ago

Excellent Napa Cab from Montes. The 2008 summer was very hot, keeping yields low and providing concentrated berries at harvest. This is a big, full bodied wine delivering lots of ripe dark fruit, pepper, tobacco and some chocolate. Smooth and almost velvety in the mouth it has a long and pleasant finish. Decanted for 2 hours, this will last another 15 years or more.
