Bodegas Virxen de Galir

Pagos del Galir Valdeorras Godello 2018

Green pear, flowers and cream on the nose. Creamed apple joins in on the palate, with lots of. Right acidity and chalky minerality on the finish. — a month ago

Coastal Region White Rhône Blend 2017

Rich and complex. Tons of fruits, nutty, slightly honeyed, stoney, full bodied and balanced by striking acidity. Delicious stuff out of SA! — a day ago

The Field Blend White Jonkershoek Valley Roussanne Blend 2020

Pure and elegant blend, fresh and pure from a healthy soil. Barrel fermented in neutral oak results in the nice clean taste, nice floral tones and a great acidity. — 2 months ago

Vintage Madeira Verdelho 1850

What a treat. Followed the ‘71 Terrantez— itself excellent. Despite the extra 121 years, the verdelho had brighter acids and shows torrified fruit, salt, caramel, apricot, and just tremendous palate density pulled along neatly by the acids. — 2 months ago

Madeira Verdelho 1981

The fourth bottle on my 40th birthday week was this lovely surprise pour from a Somm friend at Tasting Group. While my Delectable account doesn’t reflect it, I’ve always been a sucker for Madeira and this was flat out delicious. Candied walnuts, orange fruit marmalade, creme brûlée, figs...all of the things. So richly layered and long lasting on the palate. Just lovely. — a month ago

Cuarenta Cuvee Vendimias Verdejo 2017

When a relatively inexpensive wine, that was made well with good grapes evolves into something amazing! This was an unexpected surprise. Most #verdejo is thought of as seasonal and no shelf life but this is killing it right now. #rueda #spain — 2 months ago

Vinhos Barbeito

Madeira Verdelho

Made in a style popular in Savanah 150 years ago. Mostly dry, round, lemony, nutty with refreshing acidity and a seemingly infinite finish. — 2 months ago
