Stood up with Tignanello 2015. Slightly less depth and complexity, but still a great drink. Spicy! — a year ago
Part of Super Tuscan Horizontal tasting. All 2016 vintage Masseto, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Solaia, Tignanello, Redigafi, and a mystery bottle (Phelps Insignia). Off the charts good. Immense density of fruit. Big mouthfeel, incredibly well balanced. Cherry, chocolate, blueberry, tobacco, cedar. This was by far the most expensive bottle in the tasting and It was completely worth it. Believe the hype and the ratings. This was phenomenal. Favorite of the night. — a year ago

Part of Super Tuscan Horizontal tasting. All 2016 vintage Masseto, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Solaia, Tignanello, Redigafi, and a mystery bottle (Phelps Insignia). I got a lot of plumb and black cherry on the nose with a little tobacco and chocolate. On the plate it was soft, rich and balanced. Finished with some spicy notes. Very enjoyable, but did not stand out relative to others in the tasting, but that’s only because of the competition. — a year ago
This is hands down, STILL, one of my favourite wines in the world. You just cannot do better than this, in its price category, and it destroys most wines priced more expensive than this too. Like i DARE you to compare a Luce to a Tignanello. What a joke. This is soooooo amazing. — 2 years ago
Made with fruit from Tignanello estate, mostly Sangiovese with a splash of Cab Sauv, aged in French and Hungarian oak for 12 months. Deep Ruby with aromas of red and ripe black fruits with notes of floral and sweet spices. On the palate flavors of ripe black cherry, blackberry and currants with cacao, tobacco and vanilla oak. Firm rich tannins, long finish, warm ending with fruit, toasty vanilla and earthy minty tobacco. Good now but will improve over next 5 years. — 5 months ago
This was the mystery bottle in our Super Tuscan tasting event. It was up against the 2016 Masseto, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Solaia, Tignanello, and Redigaffi. This wine was outstanding. Probably one of the top 5 vintages of Insignia since 1994 in my opinion. Deep purple color, blueberry, blackberry, chocolate, some lead pencil and earth on the nose. Super smooth and elegant on the palate. Really well balanced fruit, tannins, acid. Long elegant finish of dark fruit and earthy with a touch of spice that lingered beautifully. We decanted this and all others about 2.5 hours prior to tasting. Second favorite of the night behind the Masseto which was a force of nature. — a year ago
Part of Super Tuscan Horizontal tasting. All 2016 vintage Masseto, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Solaia, Tignanello, Redigafi, and a mystery bottle (Phelps Insignia). Great black fruit and cherry. Coffee, cedar, chocolate, oak. All came together nicely. Super smooth on the palate and a long drawn out finish where the fruit lingered over the top of some earthy graphite notes. Very enjoyable wine. — a year ago

Another outstanding vintage of this Tuscan Classic blend of Sangiovese (80%) with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). Dark ruby color. Bountiful nose of currants, violets baking spices, and tobacco. Dark cherry flavors are accented by black licorice, tobacco and vanilla. Hints of crushed stones and toasted nuts on the long finish. Creamy texture and fine tannins. Beautiful finesse! Thank You Kasey and Petey! — 12 days ago
