Tasmania Riesling 2015

See previous notes from 21 weeks ago. Pale yellow in colour. The acidity from that note has diminished. Aromas of Lime and Lemon zest with a hint of Kero. White florals. A light to medium weight palate. Mainly citrus notes with a little under ripe stone fruit developing. As clean as a whistle with medium minus acid. The palate had filled out the following day. In Tasmania Pinot Noir and Chardonnay get all the accolades but don’t forget about the excellent Riesling. — 22 days ago

Pale Ruby bright red. Red cherry fruit, rose petals, violets and cinnamon with a touch of whole bunch influence. A lovely, fluid,medium bodied textured palate showing red cherry, strawberry and a touch of raspberry. A very delicious and polished Pinot Noir with high scores from all the Pros who tasted it. HH rated this #1 of 110 Pinot Noirs from Tasmania from the 2013 vintage. Obviously an exceptional terroir. Luckily I have one left. — a month ago

@Ron R Yes, the Tolpuddle Martyrs were transported from Dorset to Tasmania which was a Penal Colony in 1834.

Not your standard Riesling. Much more acidic and not as sweet (thankfully). Muscat and banana on the nose. Some tropical fruit (pineapple) and lemon on the palate. — 9 days ago

Bin 389 South Australia Cabernet Shiraz 2016

Often referred to as the “Baby Grange,” ‘16 is a blend of 51% Cab Sauv & 49% Shiraz, aged for 12 months in American oak, partly in previous-vintage Grange casks. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet and complex spice. On the palate juicy blackberry flavors with notes of tobacco, cacao and toasty spices. Well balanced with acidity, fine ripe tannins, long finish ending with smoky spice, fruit and well integrated with oak, drink over next 10 years+, good now, will only get better. — 5 days ago
