After decanting and letting rest for a while it is a great well balanced wine — 17 days ago
Dark, glass-clinging ruby red with black core. Inviting nose of tarry blackberry and burnt violets. Full palate yields the same in a cobbler with dried plum (not prune… more desiccated) and a hint of cocoa Creme. Dusty medium tannins… far less assertive than the primary variety would portend. Medium plus acidity. Evidence that Uruguay can produce premium wines at a reasonable price. True to their Italian heritage, the Pisano brothers make wines that fit the local cuisine. In this case, beef is where it's at, but any hearty fare (ribs, root veggies, tenderloin, cassoulet) will pair well. Drink now through 2028. — 14 days ago
Holding it this long was perfect. Ready to drink with dinner, and a revelation, blending those two varietals. Wish I had more. — 3 days ago
Tannat (80%)/Cabernet Franc (20%) blend. Deep purple color. Dark black fruit aromas and flavors. Hints of smoke and oak. Just a bit of a green note but it incorporates beautifully. Nicely structured, as the Tannat was not over extracted. Tannins are present but not overly grippy. Alcohol is also reasonable at 13.5%. This wine has benefited from aging. Excellent for the price! A cab drinker’s Malbec. Dark fruit but not overly so. Balanced and earthy. Would get again. Grey first xplor wine club bottle! — 15 days ago
Really loved this at Sommerin with @raj and @Peter Akers - savoury, heavy but balanced tannins and quite unusual but delicious flavour. Highly recommend — 23 days ago
Deep almost black color, ruby, with slight orange shades. Advanced open nose, wood-smoked black fruits, graphite charcoal, tobacco, roasting. Mouth with dense but flexible tannic material. The breeding is perfectly melted and seems to be able to withstand another 5 or 10 years of aging without problems. A gourmet class wine at an affordable price.
— a month ago

v18. Very good! Soft smoked meat nose. Fresh black cherry and mint fruit. Bright, clean, slightly chalky finish. Nice food wine. — 10 days ago
