The NV Brut Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore opens with a sweetly scented bouquet of crushed apples, chamomile and spice. It’s soothingly round with a savory white pit fruits and sour citrus blend. This tapers off squeaky clean while leaving a mineral tinge that punctuates the experience nicely. (Lot# L3.265) (Eric Guido, Vinous, December 2023)

Really a Franciacorta without the DOCG designation from the region’s rapidly rising star winemaker. 40 months (or 40 moons as the winemaker prefers to call it) on lees. Native yeast.
Expressive and complex on the nose with baked apple, lime, sour cherry, bread dough, and seashell, and just hint of oxidative note. The entry was overwhelmed by the high acidity initially, but settled with good texture and depth of flavor.
70/30 Chard/PN. Quattrocento refers to the approximate altitude of the vineyard. — 9 months ago
The 2015 Collio “Studio di Bianco” is an interesting blend of Sauvignon, Riesling and Tocai. The combination is stunning. The wine pours a light straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose…whoa…super aromatic. The wine is developing with bright stone fruit, namely peaches, at first…and then with air, the tropical fruits and lemons emerge with chalky minerals. One the palate, the wine is dry with medium++ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The texture is incredible. The finish is super long and grippy. So chalky, and waxy! Energetic. Brilliant. Drink now and through 2035. — 2 months ago
2023/9. Classically styled Chardonnay- lemon, cream, stone, with any oak not noticeable. There might be a twinge of something salty that makes it seem Adriatic… — 7 months ago
2021 autumn. Some initial brown funk blew off after a bit, allowing the soft, open-knit nature of the wine to show through. Plenty ripe in this vintage, and thus not the most taut, but a very enjoyable country Nebbiolo — 2 years ago
The NV Extra Dry Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore wafts up with a perfumed blend of freshly sliced nectarines and lime zest. This opens with a pretty inner sweetness complicated by a mix of zesty acidity and mineral-tinged orchard fruits. It finishes clean, yet a bit short. A candied citrus hint gradually fades. This wine is delicious. It has a textural richness, complementing an expressive bouquet of aromas and flavors crossing fruit (yellow apple, green pear, gooseberry, just ripe pineapple, lemon peel) and floral clusters (yellow flowers, blossom, honeysuckle), punctuated by herbaceous, steely, and flinty characteristics.
The Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc also lend acidity and lift to the profile, while supporting balance and establishing structure. The alcohol is high at 14.5% ABV but you would never know it.
This wine aged for 9 months in 250 liter oak barrels, augmenting the mouthfeel.
In a word, this wine is sensual!! 🥂🥂 — a month ago
