Not many beers brewed like this anymore. Literally pine trees in a forest with a hint of maple syrup. I get some citrus and raw ginger, but then that sweetness cutting through followed by bitters. The bitterness is so huge but balanced. This is a beer to experience rather than slug. — 6 years ago

Toasted bread, brown bread crust, grape candy, and a leafy, herbal hop character.

Lots of toasty, bready notes with cherry/grape Jolly Rancher and an underlying metallic mineral note from the lager yeast.

Great project for SN pairing up with a different German brewer each year to come up with this. Nice to have a fresh example of this style. — 7 years ago
