Nose has black cherry compote, recently sanded cedar, muddy garden soil and wet green herbals.
Palate has partially dried black cherry, blackberry, over-ripe black currant, crushed slate, medium tannins show this wine is still youthful.
A delicious wine showing lovely concentration and aromatics, rustic in style but high-minded as well. Drinking fantastic tonight, likely much better 2024+, might be hard to keep the remaining corks sealed for that long...

Past notes apply, but let's go through the motions. Decanted for 45 minutes. Nose: Tobacco, pine needles, soil, and a cherry base. Deep ruby in color, medium plus bodied, medium plus alcohol, medium acidity. More red cherry emerges on the palate, and pipe tobacco... More precisely, my dad's Captain Black from the 1980s. Taste not quite as complex as the smell. Finish is medium. Tannins are perfectly centered. This just misses my 94 point threshold.

Peach, papaya, spice, bit of pastis (aniseed), m acidity, light oiliness - paired with Involtini — a month ago
Performs way above its DOC. Complex nose of intense, winey cherries, loads of crushed rock-infused gravel, brambly notes, and roasted green herbs. Mouthfilling, soft, zingy with acids and minerality. Really fun. Will last and even improve over the next few years, which is kind of unusual for a Rosso D. — 20 hours ago
A wine I have had many times but my 1st time having it next to the Poggio Sotto. The Soldera is a completely different Brunello showing lots of cherry, strawberry fruits, leather, spice with floral tones in an elegant & silky style, complex & layered that reminds me of what Burlotto’s Monvigliero is to Barolo. Always a Burgundy lovers Brunello! — 11 days ago
This was my first bottle i tasted from Stella and i remember comparing it to an Echezeaux, but it has gone nwxt level up in body and complexity
I know it's a Rosso, but it feels like a huge Brunello with extra power.
Rasperry, leather, balsamic and licorice which are what you look for in a Brunello..plus wild strawberries, white plums, blood orange and nectarines...black truffle, cola, bay leaves, cardamom and soy sauce..and more trust me...in the mouth it's a refined sangiovese grosso vibrant, in tension and super enjoyable.
Had a little bruise on the label and didn't make it to the auction...
Sublime..made me so happy
