Chavignol Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2019

I think this Sancerre is punching way above its weight class. Greenish yellow color. Lots of stone, minerality, citrus and tertiary tropical scents on the nose. The pallet is crisp, fresh, and balanced with great acidity on the finish. Cheers. — a day ago

Les Culs de Beaujeu Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Nice scents of mint, some floral accents and yellow fruit but subtle, palate is gorgeous, ripe yet crisp, well balanced, and good length, great. 91-92 — 7 days ago

Clos La Néore Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2016

There is so much here, that will be revealed over the next 10-15 years. For now, drinking it can only be called infanticide. Sad 😔 I popped now. — 9 days ago

Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2019

2019 Vintage - really nice for my friends that think I spend too much money on wine - I submit this wine - about the same price as NZ Sauvignon Blanc but really nice - last Vintage was a little low on acidity but this vintage is solid and inexpensive- really like it for the price — 22 days ago

Cuvée Marnes et Caillottes Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2019

The wine of choice tonight I have opened is the 2019 Jean-Max Roger Cuvée Marnes et Caillottes Sancerre. From the Loire Valley Bué, France.

On the nose there is lime, grapefruit, melon, hawthorn, flint and minerality.

On the palate is lime, gooseberry, grapefruit, lemon, smokey flint and minerality.

This wine is light to medium bodied with a fresh clean mouthfeel, medium + to high acidity with a long citrus mineral finish. I hooe everyone has had a wonderful weekend? With the week ahead lets all stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Seashells and chalk on the nose with soft stone fruit notes hiding underneath. On the palate it is dense with a chalky mineral foundation with bright tropical fruit, guava, mango, and tangerine pith riding over. — 6 days ago

Chavignol Sancerre Pinot Noir Rosé 2007

When I went to open this wine for a friend who contributed to my wine education during the early years he immediately said, "Not until it was at least a decade on .” I shrugged my shoulders and buried it. I understand now. I had concerns as there was something floating around in the bottle. In the mouth it felt 3-D but never heavy. Flavors of watermelon , peach , red berries, and flavors quite frankly I had never experienced in a wine or could identify. At times it showed like a cocktail one would get on the beach , at other times like a complex sour ale. I feel confident in its youth it had a higher level of sweetness but like a great Riesling it perfectly integrated. A lingering juicy finish. I realize this wine would not be for everyone but for me one of my most memorable wine experiences and what I love about wine.. Honestly, my score is irrelevant.

@Severn Goodwin Lol , to be honest if I had more than one I would probably open it now because I’d be curious about the evolution. I have a ‘15 so that will sleep.

@Ira Schwartz We've got '12 thru '16, at least 3 of each. But they're out of my hands in storage. I'll pull some up maybe this Fall or next Spring.

Chavignol Sancerre Pinot Noir Rosé 2020

Nose has sliced early season cherry, freshly cut hay field, dry chalk, cold raspberries and orange zest.

Palate has dried raspberries, ripe tart cherry, warm sourdough bread, moist limestone and orange peel. A very fun wine, 2020 vintage, the first we've had not a Nouveau!

Pre-birthday dinner for our dear COVID bubble friend; we've only allowed one of our close friends into the house for almost the past year, tonight we're celebrating that he's one year older than me. 😉
