More like a fine Napa cab. Plum, blackberry, licorice, fresh herbs, light pepper spices, cigar box, and vanilla. On the palate it’s warm, gentle, and full of layered flavors, strung together by round but streaking acidity. Fine grained tannins.
Quite elegant, a word I don’t usually associate with Zin. Should continue to evolve over the next 5 years or so. — 11 days ago
An easy drinking lighter red, despite its 14.4% ABV. Nice expression of the grape. Good with food or by itself. It’s probably time to drink up, this does not have the structure or acidity to evolve more. Looking forward to my ‘14 and ‘15. — 6 days ago
