Pagani Ranch Sonoma Valley Zinfandel Blend

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 Pagani Ranch pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart black and red fruits: mixed bramble fruit, black cherry, black pepper, red flowers, tobacco, warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Yum.

Another great wine from this great, great producer. Aromatic with California ripeness yet fresh and lively. Raspberry, dark chocolate, dark cherry, herbs and spices. Great quality of fruit. Long finish.

6 zin tasting lots of first place votes consensus number one took a little to open up with air but jammy blackberry, lovely red cherry, pepper notes, and dark chocolate

This tasted like a woodsy men’s cologne. So much cigar, sandalwood, vanilla, cedar, but also a good amount of dark fruits and cocoa. Seemed disjointed compared to the 2017. Would be interesting to try again in a few years.
