N: Roses, tar, eucalyptus, mint, pepper, Red flowers and fruits.
P:Bracing acidity, prickly, med-light body,( are we sure this isn’t Nebbiolo?)
Cherries, Very much like a cross between Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, and Sangiovese. I think I’ve said that before.
Black raspberry fruit, fine tannins, a med finish.!
As it sits in the glass, tobacco rears it’s head. The body fleshes out a bit. Acidity recedes.

Vinhas Velhas (Branco) Vinho Regional Beiras White Blend 2016

Revisiting this vintage, almost three years since my first review. Truly a stunning wine at this price point. It has developed a honeycomb and golden apple quality that is reminiscent of Loire chenin, and a combination of minerality and richness that suggests Alsace. But enough with the banal comparisons; this stands on its own as an outstanding white from indigenous varieties. A tad volatile, but it works well for the style. Terrific food companion and one of the finest values out there. — 19 days ago
