Moss Wood

Moss Wood Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Deep virtually opaque blackberry shade. Absolutely beautiful with intoxicating aromas of berries, warming spice, bay leaves and black cherries. It’s rich and juicy in the mouth. Drinking beautifully however with patience this wine will be even more amazing 🤩 #sample #opinionsaremyown — 14 days ago

Margaret River Chardonnay 2014

Pale Lemon in colour. More in the lean style for Margaret River as compared to the richer “peaches and cream “ style of Cuvées like Leeuwin Art Series and Pierro. The oak has been judiciously dialled back not to overwhelm the more delicate fruit profile of citrus and grapefruit. Finished off with crisp acid. Would have liked a riper fruit profile from this good vintage. Perhaps picking a little later? — a month ago

Margaret River Chardonnay 2019

This wine reminds me of touring the Margaret River wine region years ago with the little card hanging from the rear view mirror letting the driver record the number of samples they had enjoyed so as to to have the driver consume "too much". Anyway, this is a nice, clean Chardonnay with lime aromas on the nose. On the palate, more of that lime but also white peach jumps out as me. Quite dry and of a medium body which feels substantial when compared to flimsier summer patio wines. I like it. — 4 days ago

Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2001

One of half a dozen. Perhaps on the decline but still showing the gorgeous Margaret River fruit and gravelly tannin. Perfect for sipping on a Saturday night. — 14 days ago

Cobaw Ridge

Il Pinko Syrah 2019

Very good Rose with unusual pomegranate, watermelon rind, grapefruit spectrum challenged by a good freshness and minerality.
Drinking very well. Long

Wilyabrup Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

Complex and amazing. Cassis and smoky wooden almost tobacco like flavours. Aired for two hours but still developed nicely as more time went on. — 6 days ago

Cape Mentelle

Margaret River Shiraz 2017

Acidity, deep color, deep fruits. Had with spicy Indian shrimp Marsala. Really good! — 3 days ago

Leeuwin Estate

Art Series Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Blackcurrant/blackcurrant leaves, herbs, licorice root, oaky vanilla. Sinewy tannins that could use a little more time. Handles the ribeye with ease. Tough on a 90 degree night of grilling. — a month ago
