Art Series Margaret River Chardonnay 2018

Ming L

Richly textured with predominately ripe fruits and oak notes at this young age, but in a way that somehow conveys a sense of understated elegance. Enough acidity to carry the medium to full body.
My first of this iconic Chard from down under. And it did not disappoint.

Matthew Woodlands Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

So much going on.. dark cherry almost herbal on the nose, dark fruits, clove, medium acidity, medium low alcohol .. generous toasty oak, cigar/ tobacco... Evolves and almost intensifies with time in the glass. Love it — 24 days ago

Henry's Seven Barossa Red Blend 2018

Hoffmann Dallwitz Syrah 2016

This is extremely youthful. Ink, mint, resin, blackberries, black pepper and kalamata olives.
Lots of tannines, which are perfectly ripe and soft, Elegant and powerful, this is so promising, but needs at least three more years in the dungeon. Or 24hr in the decanter.
Truly beautiful, pure and graceful.

Little Wine #7 Syrah

Similar notes to 48 weeks ago. Raspberry and blackberry - red and black fruits. A blend of 4 vintages but 43% 2017. Also 2016, 2015 and 2012 - all good vintages in the Barossa. A note of dried herbs. As always the feature is the succulent supple silky tannins from the old vine fruit. Interestingly Fraser likes to enjoy the “Little Wines” in a year or two after release. — 20 days ago

The Boxer Shiraz 2020

Great restaurant value. Dark purple color. Massive depth with vanilla, spice, and amaranth. Long finish. Easy drinking even at 16% OH. Perfect wine for tonight @ 60+ degrees on a June night in Lake Placid! — 7 days ago

Shiraz Viognier 2010

So different to the magnum of 2002 we had on Thursday night. This 2010 is the Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier I knew and loved. The 2002 showed this Cuvée is not for long keeping. See previous Delectable notes for the 2010 - from a wet year in the ACT apparently but this is still brilliant. Spicy, a touch of white pepper, savoury red fruits. Just medium weight. Superb. — 2 days ago

Prelude Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon

2018 vintage. Very fine-grained tannins, good mix of fruit and earthier notes. Fresh blackberry, black cherry, cassis, black plum, decaying leaves, leather, cedar, a little fluffy, yeasty bit I could do without, stale sage, stale allspice. Much more Bordelais than Barossa. — a month ago

Grange South Australia Shiraz 2004

Wonderful weight and meatiness. Needed plenty of time to unwind but such a nice ride once it did. Subtle spice with rich cab notes. Decanted and consumed over two nights. Was just as good if not better Day 2. — 12 days ago
