Great example of a New World malvasia. Outpaces what Steve Clifton at Palmina does with this varietal in terms of depth and length (chalk that up to winemaker’s preference). No idea about how well it might age, but I wouldn’t bother waiting! — 3 years ago
One of the great things about Palmina is that they pull stuff from their cellar from time to time and offer them as part of wine club shipments. This took about 20-30min to open up (had some funky aromas initially which eventually blew off), but once it did it showed some great, older aromas of dried strawberries, hints of sour cherry, and old leather. Great acidity on the palate...and it went great with the AMAZING pork fried rice dish that Vanessa made us for dinner! — 3 years ago
A deep golden straw color. Aromas of apricot and white peach. Give your glass a little time and swirling to introduce the aroma. The texture is rich, clean and smooth. On the nose (after time) are hints of almond and sickle pear. There is a suggestion of acidity which provides a balance. Excellent. — 10 months ago
Wow. Totally surprised by this wine. As I understand it, La Voix is an offshoot from Steve’s flagship operation, Palmina (the best Italian varietal-based wines outside of the Old Country, IMHO). I was a bit skeptical at first - was concerned about it being over-oaked like the one vintage of John Alban’s Perra Docs North offerings that I’ve had - but this is terrific (and an amazing QPR). Definitely has an old-world flare to it in terms of acidity and minerality (more Chablis than Burgundy), but with CA fruit through and through. Do yourself a favor and try one of these! — 3 years ago

Ruby red, dry with a balanced suggestion of acidity and tannins. Very long peppery finish. Enjoy this great Italian Nebbiolo from California! — 10 days ago
