First bottle of honeymoon wine at the Mark Hopkins InterContinental In San Francisco! It smells like the best piece of baked brioche bread, the crust specifically. Surprisingly light on the bubbles, almost a pet-nat level of effervescence, but the flavor is straight acidic red fruits, with strawberry and some lemon citrus, and a delicious dry finish. The finish is also mouth drying, but all mineral driven. Very enjoyable pre-dinner sparkling! — 5 days ago
Nice Mendicino Cab. Dark ruby color. Intense nose of black cherry and vanilla cream. The very busy pallet includes dark cherries and currants with hints of cocoa, tobacco, baking spices and that ever present vanilla. Soft but rich at the same time. The finish just goes on and on. Aged 26 months in French Oak. Also a great value! Appreciate you sharing this one, Kase! — 14 days ago
Was recommended with my rack of lamb entree, and DID NOT disappoint! — 2 days ago
So complex. Nose is very floral like walking in an alpine field and then there’s a light strawberry. Palate has excellent acidity with strawberries, hint of creaminess, more floral notes, tropical fruit, a bit of vegetable underlying it all. Can’t really put my finger on it. Needed some air and to be closer to room temp to open up. — 6 days ago
