Ahhhh yes. Such a graceful pretty expression of Barolo. Chambolle like. Nose is all roses, florals, hint of tar and glorious mid season cherries. Wild mint and even tarragon. So complex and graceful. Just gorgeous, nimble and refined. Palate is sappy, delicate, energetic and graceful. Sappy and so dense but a light dense. Packed with cherry and spice. Also that wild mint. Ripe and velvety tannins. Needs some air but it is all there. Nose gets really detailed and deep with air. Gorgeous texture and purity. Really present and grippy fruit. This seems like it needs a few hours and a few years. Long finish. Will see what happens in an hot or two. Solid 9.3 now. — 6 hours ago

Debut vintage of this and it slays. Nose is ripe as 15 can be but it is infinitely complex. Tar, roses, deep cherry fruit. Glorious spice and so nuanced. Just keeps opening. After 5 minutes it’s changed 8 times. Wow. This is a dream. As supple as the most elite Burgundy and so sweet! Wow. This is as Chambolle as it gets. Perfect balance and stunning purity and depth. Velvet and silk of the highest level. This is the best 15 Barolo I’ve ever had. It’s not close. Wow. Sweet, sensual and silky palate that has the spherical effect in spades. Nose is impossible complex. Unreal concentration and freshness. This is mindbending. Sadly only 36 bottles. Start begging!

This has the balance that only super .0001% elite wines have. This is stunning.

That’s the stuff. Much more complex than the normal Barolo. Just a stunning nose. So much mineral, cherry flower and unreal nuances. Spice, iodine, just penetrating and so refined. Deep cherry fruit with a citrus twang. Really fine. Wow the cherry fruit aromas are absolutely knee bucklers. Just so fine, deep and precise. Wow the florals now kicking in. This is a 9.6 nose. Maybe higher. Wow that is a sexy beast. This needs 45 minutes as it is very tight right now. Stunning depth and purity but big tannins and acid and an incredible core of fruit. This is an obvious 9.5. off the bat but this, like the 16, needs mega air. Nose gets so complex and expansive as it airs. Huge fruit. But nuanced and complex. An airy sense of minerality. Almost like an ocean breeze. Okay nose is a 9.6 now. Just sick.

Palate becoming more concentrated. Fruit getting sweeter and sappier. But tannins still fierce and leading the way. Ahh now the elegance picks up and it gets more spherical and sweet. Wonderful.

Super forward and aromatic. Wow. Gorgeously ripe mid to late season cherries, florals and almost a hint of compote. Under all that is spice, tar and superb minerality. Really wide and complex nose. Expansive and inviting. Just so pretty. Sot really knows what’s up. Awesome palate. Shows all the glory of what a successful 17 is. Great sweet fruit. Strawberry and mid season cherry. Awesome freshness from acidity and minerality. Toothsome and ripe tannins. Amazing levels of fruit and really profound freshness. This opens rapidly in the glass and develops just mesmerizing aromas. Hints of ripe citrus rind and exotic spices. Really round and well balanced. Shows what a great winemaker Maurizio Sot is. Long, persistent finish. I’d wait 3-4 years for the tannins to come into balance but a very very fine 17. Nose really comes into action after 15 minutes or so. So complex and just so much fruit, tar and spice. Just a brilliant wine! Now after 45 minutes or so the finesse has arrived. Wonderful wine! — 7 days ago

Very very pretty nose. Floral. Tar. Mid season cherry and spice. Very bright, very precise and very focused. Palate is dynamite. Awesome precision and sweetness. Really fine. Ripe and spreading tannins. Super juicy. Candied, confectionary cherries and such explosiveness. Really really good. Better than 18. More precise and focused. Also more nimble. Great minerality and freshness. This is deep and almost profound. Wow. I think this will be a 9.3. — 7 hours ago
