This wine is high in tannins and acidity, so should age well. However, even the 2019 vintage is drinkable now. It’s my first Monastrell and I like it a lot. — 7 months ago
Inky color. Dense and aggressive on the palate. Nose is macho, with lots of pungent purply berry fruit, lots of graphite and dark minerals. Tannins aren’t too bad though. Maybe wasn’t the wisest pull on a 90 degree evening but it’s putting on a show. — a year ago
At Rigo Spanish Italian Restaurant trying lots of different dishes with this $29 wine. I was expecting a more macho wine for a Montepulciano but this was an ok option. — 2 months ago

2016s are epic so far. Lazzairesco in Serralunga. Little more macho than the little sister Santa Caterina vineyard. Beautiful fruit, ripe cherry, classic liquorish, balsamic, rose or just smells beautifully of the Langhe. :) — a year ago
Not very sweet and easy to deal with like a good gaucho — 2 years ago
Instant like. Smooth and light — 2 months ago
What a beautiful wine. Nothing macho or international about this super Tuscan, it’s very light on its feet, combining bright iron-y mineral notes with dried rose florals and wild red berry aromas. Feels unmistakably Tuscan you’d swear there was some sangiovese. Palate is sweet on the attack, then a wash of acid takes over and hangs on beautifully, leading in to the spicy but nimble tannins that tingle, again counterbalanced by a ripe, sexy rush of fruit. Sour cherry to blood orange and everything in between. Very finessed, yet no lack of structure. Must put a few in the cellar if I can still find them around. — 4 months ago
