This is labeled “Grille Midi,” which may be a specific cuvée. It with peppery and astringent at first, but has loosened up considerably after an hour’s worth of air. Nose then shows very traditional hard cherry candy fruit and lots of crushed granite. In the mouth, it’s dense but fairly light on its feet. There’s still a lot of fine-grained tacky tannins integrated, suggesting to me this will keep and improve at least a couple more years. A somewhat macho style for Fleurie.
