Nose is pink grapefruit and minerals. As this opens it is ethereal. Wow. Unique elegant perfume.
Liquid grapefruit soda with rocky minerals
Some Campari on the finish. Powdered Rocks made of petrified grapefruit.
Truly perfect. I need to just buy a case of every muellen wine. I always drink them all down.

Perfection thy name is 2018 Martin Müllen Trarbacher Hühnerberg Spatlese** .
Ok here is my note as of 10:54 Am. Opened at 8pm last night so basically still on day 1. Insane perfectly detailed nose of peach, apricot and slate that is so perfectly defined it’s just beyond. Makes JJ Prum look like JV Prum. Spice. Oh glorious spice. Wow. Wow. Peach skin. Like the best peach skin ever. Apricot flesh from an an elite apricot. Not those shitty apricots. Tree bark. Wood shavings. Impossible a wine is this complex yet so clear. Palate is perfection again. So dense, so elegant, clearly perfectly defined peach fruit. Apricots. Citrus. Super texture. Icing on a cake. Insane purity. So clean. Beautiful delicate acid. So pure. Long dissipating finish. Perfection. — 2 months ago
@Delectable Wine this is just Krover Kirchlay Auslese.
Don’t think I’ve ever had a Kirchlay Auslese from Müllen before. This is brilliant and another hit in the sweet wines of 2018 Müllen. Awesome nose of slate, wet stones, birthday pound cake with vanilla icing. Lime, rock candy, ripe fleshy peaches and kiwi, airy elegant aromatics but also layered and intense. Palate is as usual, OMG level of insanity. Unreal texture like icing, vanilla, sappy peaches, pineapple, energetic mineral freshness and cloud like finesse. This is so sweet and hedonistic but compact and has enough freshness to carry it. Just an amazing wine. — 2 months ago
Wow. One of the great vineyards of the world. A formerly ignored part of the mosel. Now famous because of high scores. Brilliant wines from auslese to off dry to dry. For my money the top producer in the mosel.
Nose is the best peaches in the world. Insane peach perfume as it opens.
Palate is perfect peaches and candies sugar made from peaches. Acidity crushes the palate. Huge acidity and freshness. Amazing. Texture is perfect. It lets you know who’s boss but doesn’t interfere.
As this opens it flays the palate with a whip made of magic peaches.
Still young. Will add complexity as it ages. Will last 40 years or more.
I’m having this with goat cheese and truffle honey.

Insane nose. Mullen is the god level sweet wine maker now in the Mosel. Creamsicle, Slate, apricot, lime blossom, massive pure pulverized slate dust, so perfumed. With air there is canned fruit juice, blackcurrants and more. The palate is deep, rich, sweet and wonderfully fresh. Incredible zippy minerals and a creamy, round texture. Juicy, balanced and pure. Packed with peach, apricot, pink grapefruit, confectionary sugar and fresh honey. Invigorating but also harmonious. What poise, balance, depth and purity. A stunner. Has 30 years to go. — 3 months ago
2010 is this mislabeled ? This is zero star. Does not Taste like that.
This is sick off the bat.
Nose is elegant peach and peach flower. Crazy density. Some aged Riesling. Complex ... but I’m so blown away I can’t focus on detailing every little thing.
Palate is concentrated perfectly ripe peach. Crunchy confectionary elements. Juicy. Crazy fresh. It has the concentration of baked peaches but the freshness and clarity of perfect fresh ones.
Epic levels of almost tart acidity. Wow.
Whatever I bought it was a massive under buy.

Nose is minerals and apricots. Almost like a silky beauty to the nose. Very hard to describe. Almost nectar like. Like a wind blowing across a mountain lake that has apricot trees on its shore. You get those apricot flowers. Like perfect peak apricot flowers.
Palate is delicious and so juicy. Apricots. Minerals. Peach. Silky texture.
Some sweet minerals on the finish. Dried peach and dried apricot extract. Really beautiful elegant coherent blend of the minerals and elegant fruit. Finish is terrific.
This is really a wine of elegance. Nothing really jumps at you. It’s not huge in any way. Like great chassagne Montrachet made in the mosel from Riesling.
A hard wine to score. On pure elegance and balance it’s a 9.6. On its individual elements a 9.2. I guess I’ll split the difference.
