#6 on WS top 100 wines of 2007.
2 hour decant (decent chunky sediment). A dazzling dark ruby red color. On the nose: perfumed nose, black fruit, menthol, earthy, green veggie, graphite. Taste: a smooth and silky wine with dark fruit, spice, earthy, and a cherry pencil lead medium plus slightly tannic finish. Still just a little young and slightly austere...it will be better with a few more years on it. But with the decant, it will be enjoyed over the next couple hours this Saturday night! Cheers! — 2 days ago
Blackberries, cedar and some herbyness. Drinking great with a long smooth finish. Went very well with a take out cassoulet dinner from Bibou. — 9 days ago
Fantastic wine and just my style!
1hr+ decant, which was perfect. Dark red color with aging on the edges. Classic Bordeaux nose of cherries, earth, cigar box, and cedar. Dark cherries, smoke, and charred meat on the palate. Medium depth with some grittiness to it, and above average tannins. Medium plus finish. Loved it!
Would drink now as it’s slowly starting its decline. — 10 days ago
Stunning translucent violet color...pic here is not doing the visual justice. Nose is gorgeous—ripe strawberry and game aromas with some creme de cassis, rose petals and pink peppercorns. Palate is a bit of a letdown though still very good; the yeasty finish doesn’t let the full complexity shine through. For me, solid but not a rebuy; natural wine loons will love it — a day ago
2nd time drinking this wine. 1 bottle drunk in France and this bottle drunk in the USA. There is so much hype behind this wine given miniscule production and traditional character. It’s a good wine and not flashy. However, it is not extremely complex and arguably lacking energy and refinement. Price tag is far too high in the USA. — 16 days ago
In a great place. Black and red fruit, cassis, graphite, sage. Fine, coating tannins. Drink or hold. — 3 days ago
