Fattorie Romeo Del Castello

Allegracore Etna Rosso DOC Nerello Mascalese-Nerello Cappuccio Blend 2016

Delectable Wine
9.0

Pale ruby. Flinty smoky red cherry and herbs on the enticing nose. Then clean fresh and easygoing, with a stony quality to the ripe but vibrant red cherry and redcurrant flavors. Finishes long and herbal with hints of flint. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, August 2019) — 3 years ago

Domaine du Gour de Chaulé

Romano Dogliotti

La Caudrina Moscato d'Asti 2018

Delectable Wine
9.3

Vivid pale golden straw. Enticing aromas of ripe yellow apple, tangerine, lemon ice and sweet spices have a musky undertone. Then bright, lively and pure, offering deep, complex flavors of fresh citrus fruit, sage and minerals that linger impressively on the floral and very long back end. Another standout Moscato d'Asti from Romano Dogliotti; La Caudrina confirms itself as one of the true benchmark wines of the denomination (Dogliotti's usually richer, more concentrated 2018 La Galeisa will be released around March 2019). Caprili

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Delectable Wine
9.5

Vibrant red. Minerals and violet complement lively red cherry and raspberry aromas on the incisive nose. Then enticingly fresh and well-balanced, with captivating violet inner-mouth perfume to the steely red and black fruit flavors that linger impressively. The delicately peppery finish features polished if youthful tannins and noteworthy purity of fruit. Knockout 2015 Brunello, one of the top half dozen of the year. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, April 2020)

Fossacolle

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Delectable Wine
9.2

Good full red. Inviting aromas of ripe plum, red cherry nectar, leather and underbrush. Plump but graceful, with flavors of red fruit, leather and potpourri that are supported by polished tannins tapering nicely on the long, saline finish. In keeping with the warm year, this showy wine is round and creamy but slightly less well delineated than some past vintages of Fossacolle. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, April 2020)

Rocca di Montegrossi

Toscana IGT Sangiovese Rosato 2018

Delectable Wine
9.1

Medium pale pink. Floral strawberry, herbs and violets on the inviting nose. Then a slightly candied quality and a hint of residual sweetness diminish the vibrancy of the floral and juicy red berry flavors but contribute to a smooth, round mouthfeel. The finish is long and very precise, with obvious mineral elements emerging. 100% Sangiovese. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, May 2019) — 3 years ago
