Milk Fed 2 Saureel Vineyard Petit Manseng 2019

This is well-made for what it tries to be, which is a light skin contact wine which is all the rage of the moment. But I confess I prefer his other more traditional wines. — 7 days ago

Caldera El Dorado Mourvedre Blend 2010

1/2 hour decant (little cloudy sediment). A formidable dark tawny red color with decent bricking. On the nose: subtle nose of stewed meat, iron, cherry, smoke, and herbs. Taste: A creamy, smooth medium plus body wine with mouth coating raspberry, minerals, tar, leather, little chocolate, and a smokey tobacco medium plus finish. Drink em now or over the next few years. Cheers! — 21 days ago

Sabon Estate

Rocky Top Amador County Zinfandel 2018

Ah Sobon Zin. The good stuff. This has some lovely cherry and berry aromas. With a bit of cut wood and nice smelling pipes. Flavor a a hint hot with a brandy/port streak, but that doesn’t detract from things because the fruit and zip is also there. Plenty to chew on and savor. This is jammy, classic foothills stuff. Full flavored and robust. Quite tasty too. — 12 days ago

Dobra Zemlja

Milan Ruz Red Blend

Surprisingly aromatic fruit, nearly opaque, flavors or red fruit with forward cherry and subtle raspberry flavors. The 1 liter bottle was a surprise. — 3 days ago

Estate Bottled North Yuba Cabernet Sauvignon 1999

This bottle was off dry. But in a really nice way.

Not sure what happened. The other renaissance wines we've had were definitely dry, a lot of variance bottle to bottle though.

Pretty ruby with brown showing thru the edges. Red spiced fruit and that mild sweetness. Barely noticeable tannins.

Maestro White Blend 2014

Kitchen sink blend from South Africa: sorta all over the place, complex nose of lemon custard, apple, orchard fruit, white flowers, roasted nuts, butterscotch & honey. Silky suave on palate, oily, vibrant acidity - clean finish w/lanolin - quinine. Don’t know if these varietals belong together but it holds together just enough to pull it off. — 15 days ago
