6th and final of the night. Please. Now that the pre-flight tasting is over we start the wine ;) 2nd if the peats. It’s got smoke but I have changed over the years and started to really like that. This is really good. Drink all night? No. This is a great finish to the tasting and to be clear stuck with me for a while. — 3 years ago
Neutral on the palette, smooth, no strong flavor stands out. — 5 years ago
From the retail 'Single Barrel Select' program by way of my local wine purveyor, Barrel No. 306.
My favorite nightcap of anything available, under $40...still perfecting my ice cube game, finding it difficult to still get a fully clear cube with all the proper mold technique. — 6 years ago
Haven’t had Pappy but this is hands down the best 4 year Rye I’ve ever tasted! — 2 years ago
Beautiful honey amber color. Elegant aromas of toffee, caramel, red apple, baking spice, oiled leather, and dried figs. Palate coating mouthfeel. Flavor profile expands upon the above with subtle citrus notes, honeycomb, and bitter chocolate. Water brings out the warmth of cream of wheat and other malted flavors. Long, luxurious finish. Excellent dram! — 4 years ago
Smooth with no bite. Easy to drink all day! — 5 years ago
How does anyone not hoard (regular) Sazerac at ~$25?!
Incredibly smooth, great sweet note to the finish. Again, why haven't I not been buying this for years...?
(BTW Kirkland Bourbon at $30 is worth the price of admission, earthy oak note on the palate is quite similar to Buffalo Trace.)
Counter-Clockwise from top left:
Buffalo Trace (single-barrel selection), Jefferson's Reserve Very Old/Very Small Batch, Knob Creek (9yo), Kirkland Bourbon (7yo), St George single-malt (SM 015), Hillrock (Ancram NY, solera aged, Barrel No. 174), Berkshire Mountain Distillers Shay's Rebellion and Wild Turkey Master's Keep (Batch 0001, 17yo). — 2 years ago
