Cinsault

Domaine la Grange Saint André

Grenache des Grès Grenache Cinsault

Light, fruity, and fragrant. Perfect with chicken braised in white wine with garlic and rosemary. Sweet cherryish fruit, floral notes, and a little warm gravel. Vivid high-toned cherry fruit in the mouth with loads of rock dust. Light on its feet and very soft. Good acidity. Great summer meal wine. Non-vintage. — 5 days ago

Domaine Tempier

Bandol Rosé Blend 2020

A rosé that will rock your socks off from the legendary producer Domaine Tempier,
Brilliant wine from start to finish. Vivid nose with fresh red berries and a zesty, grape-like bitterness, orange blossom and a whole bunch of fresh herbs over a canvas of wet stones.
Fresh and bright palate with a stoney , mineral nerve that cuts through the pronounced fruit concetration and the slight creamy viscosotiy, a layered complexity through a long stimulating finish.
As good as the legend goes, unfortunaltely a challenge to get your hands on.

Savage Wines

Follow the Line Western Cape Cinsault Blend

2018 vintage. An absolutely gorgeous Cinsault from 39 years old vines. Beautiful nose of pomegranate, rose petals and a hint of rosemary. This is all about delicate extractions and elegance. Burgundian-like finesse with bright red fruit, fresh acidity and velvety tannin. Very good length with subtle spices. Highly recommended. — 8 days ago

@Stefan Dolhain Very timely , as I literally bought a bottle of his Syrah yesterday because I was not familiar with it and it sounded interesting.

@Ira Schwartz tasted the Syrah too today. Very good also, even if I prefer the Cinsault. Duncan Savage is a great winemaker.

Mont Gravet

South of France Rosé Cinsault 2020

More complicated than most roses I’ve had. Something herbal, thankfully not too sweet. Not sure how ashamed I should be in admitting I dropped an ice cube in this while enjoying a patio dinner on a warm Boulder evening. — 25 days ago

Sandlands

Lodi Cinsault 2019

Planted in 1886 and currently under the stewardship of the Phillips family. Popped and poured; consumed over two days. The 2019 Cinsault currently pours a bright, brilliant ruby with a translucent core. Medium viscosity. Whoa…this wine is fresh and juicy! Flavors of Blackberry Izzy, bruised apple, Clementine mandarins, boozy pineapple, and Laughy Taffy. Medium tannin with medium, maybe medium + acid. A really pretty wine and quite delicious. This is a fabulous summer red! I found this to be even more enjoyable the second day so a little patience will be rewarded. 8 barrels produced. — a month ago
