Always a classic. Still a (relative) value. Balance, structure, texture, tension, integration and length. Just great winemaking. Benchmark Chard. — 3 months ago
Stunning wine. Love the vintage for whites, in which terroir will shine, and I love the Charmes site particularly from Lafon. It’s fabulous today, youthful, fresh and ultra complex with proper levels of development without any hint of premox, with a bouquet of spiced orchard fruit, white flowers, honeysuckle and roasted hazelnuts. The palate has gained richness but remains pure and focused with tremendous depth that’s seamlessly balanced by its stony minerality. In an amazing spot! — a month ago
Typical. Refreshing — 2 months ago
The 2013 Volnay Les Santenots-du-Milieu 1er Cru offers blackberry, raspberry, undergrowth and loamy scents on the nose, nicely defined and fresh after ten years. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins, ferrous, lifted acidity with maybe just a touch more bitterness on the finish than I would have liked. It's a tad dry, but this still has much to offer. I would drink this earlier than the 2013 Les Perrières. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2023)

at first a bit fat and even clumsy next to PYCM, after an hour it was a different and amazing wine. The depth! The fruit! — 15 days ago
