This is the Monterey Merlot. Plain as plain can be label design. Ruby red with just a hint of rusty color. Flavors are tangy, juicy and complex. This is CA Merlot like it can be made well. Leather, mulberry and just the lightest touch of sweet black licorice. — 10 days ago

Pinot Noir 2007

Deep ruby.
Nose is initially a bit shy. With air, in tulip glass and paired with homemade shepherd's pie; this shows juniper berry, bitter cherry pit/bark, bracing digestif herbs. In a big Burgundy stem, shows some rose hip, acerola, crushed creosote leaf, damp pine forest. This is one heck of a complex nose.
Palate is medium bodied, tannins are fine, long and surprisingly dry, not on the mid palate but one the finish with a black tea/amaro like bitterness that lingers.
I really wish I had more as this is my last bottle.

Ed, I don't think they are vinifying their own wines anymore, maybe only selling grapes. I saw Loring Wine Co, Bonaccorsi and Pali in recent vintages.

BTW was introduced to Peter C. While working with Sashi Moorman when he was making wines at Stolpman and consulting for Bonaccorsi in 2004, just after Mike had passed away. The Lompoc wine ghetto was a place of fraternity as I recall.

F.R.F Tinaquaic Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2016

Deep ruby/purple color. Aromas of tomato leaf, blue and black berry, tobacco with a touch of green bell pepper. Pallet is rich and full of dark fruit, cocoa, wood, roasted poblano pepper and a touch of vanilla. A bit of tobacco, minerals and earth on the very long finish. Chopping Block Paso Robles Syrah Blend 2018

Medium ruby with a very powerful Ripe👃 of blue and red fruits. Blueberries, dried cranberries, a bit of dried herbs, and blood orange. The wine is drier than the nose and the Paso Robles location led me to assume. Plenty of body (full) and tannins, this is what I would call a brooding wine. Medium acidity. Nice, pleasant finish. Would probably have gone better with a heavy stew and fall/winter weather. It’s 90 degrees and I’m drinking it on a walk. That being said, I’m the kinda guy that will eat pizza for breakfast, so it’s still good. — 5 days ago

Medium ruby red in appearance. A bit savory on the nose with berries, spices, cocoa and a hint of earthiness. Well balanced palate with a medium body and medium tannins (5.5/10). Fresh red berries on the palate with some darker spices and bramble berries. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2029. — 7 days ago
