VERY fruit-forward, like blueberries 🫐/strawberries IN YOUR FACE lol. Marshmellow, nutmeg, honestly just sweeter than I expect for Pinot Noir 🤔 — 10 days ago
A wildly fresh bouquet of violets, lavender, cooling smoke and sugar-dusted blueberries wafts up as the 2021 Pessimist by DAOU unfolds in the glass. It's soft-textured yet energetic in style. Candied citrus hints accentuate cooling mineral tones and crisp wild berry fruits. The 2021 finishes with impressive length yet lightly structured. Violette Pastille and crunchy mineral tones slowly fade. (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2023) — 20 days ago
‘Las Alturas' Spanish for 'the heights', a fitting name, this vineyard located on one of the highest grape-growing benches in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. 4th gen Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner from family with farming & winemaking roots in Napa since 1906. Met Joe several times. Deep Ruby (darkest Pinot I have come across). Nice berry and floral spice aromas. Rich cherry/plum flavors with oak, spice and vanilla. Long finish, bold ending with sweet oak notes. Nice! A Fav! — 18 days ago

The 2018 Isosceles is youthfully understated yet darkly alluring, with black cherry and spiced citrus nuances lifting from the glass. This washes across the palate with ease, cool-toned and with a pure mix of red and black fruits. It finishes with admirable length while maintaining an energetic feel. Blackberry hints slowly fade. Balanced Chardonnay, fruit with just a hint of ok. This Chardonnay was perfectly matched with mac n’ cheese. — 2 days ago
