👅 Apple juice, dehydrated nectarine, green banana peel, faint vanilla creme, old vinyl | 👅 Honey drizzle over fresh apple pie, under-ripe yellow apple, white peach. Considerably more advanced than our prior bottle, seems some bottle variation here, but one more bottle in the cellar for confirmation.

Brooks Road Shiraz 2013

Wow. A reminder that I need to drink more Aussie Shiraz. Show stopping aromas of baked, spiced, black plum, campfire smoke, blackberries and black currant, date, bay leaf, licorice, cedar, leather, mocha, eucalyptus, with the slightest hint of something raw, feral and a little filthy that I like in my Syrah, but that most new world examples miss. Round, full and silky on the palate. A powerful, riper and higher alcohol expression of Syrah for sure, but balanced and exquisite as the best big wines are. — 10 months ago
