Crannell Eola Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2018

This needed a long decant for the alcohol to settle down, eventually fresh, silky, and smooth cherry, raspberry, vanilla, and underbrush. — 20 days ago

Sweet P Brooks Estate Vineyard Riesling 2014

2014; Father's Day 2022.
👅 Apple juice, dehydrated nectarine, green banana peel, faint vanilla creme, old vinyl | 👅 Honey drizzle over fresh apple pie, under-ripe yellow apple, white peach. Considerably more advanced than our prior bottle, seems some bottle variation here, but one more bottle in the cellar for confirmation.

I remember when Brooks was $12.00 a bottle.

Bois Joli Vineyard Riesling 2013

2013; Father's Day 2022.
👃 Over-ripe green apples, celery greens, wet slate, tart green apple peel, cane sugar | 👅 Granny Smith apple wedge, baked green apples, low residual sugar. Noted improvement from our prior bottle. Drink or hold.

Willamette Valley Riesling 2012

2012; Mother's Day 2022.

Lots of petrol and new rubber on the nose, low acidity on the gentle palate. 5H double-decant, questioning if there is future improvement here...

Brooks Road Shiraz 2013

Wow. A reminder that I need to drink more Aussie Shiraz. Show stopping aromas of baked, spiced, black plum, campfire smoke, blackberries and black currant, date, bay leaf, licorice, cedar, leather, mocha, eucalyptus, with the slightest hint of something raw, feral and a little filthy that I like in my Syrah, but that most new world examples miss. Round, full and silky on the palate. A powerful, riper and higher alcohol expression of Syrah for sure, but balanced and exquisite as the best big wines are. — 10 months ago
