A little tired after 13 years but still a passable Pinot — 6 months ago
2018 Coyam from Emiliano Los Robles Estate 150 km south of Santiago, Chile.
Organic and biodynamic practices by Alvaro Espinoza.
42% Syrah, 39% Carmenere, 6% Cab Sauv, 5%Garnacha, 3% Malbec, 3% Carignan, 1% Tempranillo and 1% Mourvèdre. Truly a field blend wine.
Ripe blueberries, blackberries and cherries on the nose with a hint of earth.
This wine is so smooth. Flavours of plums, dark fruit, fig and a hint of smokiness. Smooth tannins and a long finish. Put anything on the grill and enjoy this. — 3 years ago
Raspberry, sorrel, ruby red, sorrel, thick raspberry jam, sorrel, acidic wet bite, light tannin — 3 years ago
O wow. This is something!
A Merlot/ Cab Franc blend from halfway between Pisa and Piombino.
Vinified in cement & clay, aged in wood., biodynamic.
Very, very Bordeaux’esque. Very St. Emilion.
Black currants, plums, black currant leaf & a touch of dark cherries. Sweet & plush yet savoury. With a touch of allspice, black pepper, bay leaf, a hint of roast. Fresh, juicy.
Amazing precision on the palate, plush yet juicy, rich yet vibrant. I love the super fine, polished tannins. And the balamce between black currant freshness and savoury, spicy, earthy character.
Complex yet so lovely & drinkable.
Unexpectedly, this is brilliant stuff! — 3 months ago
Biodynamic Pinot Blanc with a splash of Auxerrois.
Fresh nose, herby, salty, mineral with the typical Alsace note of summer meadow & ripe orchard fruit.
Nice mouthfeel, a bit rounder & creamier yet beautifully balanced with zesty acidity, ripe pears, Mirabelle plums and orange zest. Finished off with a mineral, salty, stony note.
Very nice for summer terrace sipping but also a great food wine! — 2 years ago
Very nice balanced older Cab Franc. Very mature rather faded fruit laced with earthy notes that opened up. Good acidic texture and finish. Excellent with Amahs ribs and veggies. GL flash buy at 35. Next day even better after Eto and upping a point. Lively and fresh. 12ABV and biodynamic rescue of beaten down Anjou estate by Leflaive of Burgundy fame. Should have one left for a bit more aging — 3 years ago
Label does not refer to it being biodynamic. Nevertheless, it has everything I like in a chenin blanc and drinking beautifully in 2023. $25 — 6 months ago
Beautiful nose - cherry, raspberry, star anise. Like the salinity. Alcohol builds tho — 9 months ago
Lime pith swells with shallot, lemon peel and lemon-poppy bread, seashell, chive, carnation, orchids, candied grapefruit peel bouquet. Dry and enticing entry, has a Chablis like austerity, but rounder, showing chamomile and caper with lemon juiciness. .

Needed to warm up to be expressive. Needed salt and fat to show well. Very elegant once paired correctly. — 2 months ago
