Nice reduction in the nose, with some salty popcorn enriched with fresh, herby, minty note. Not overly expressive and highly intriguing.
In the palate this is not shy - great purity & concentration, with loads of green lime acidity surrounding a core of yellow stone fruit. A touch of wood in the background and, again, the fresh herbs add complexity.
I wanted to decant this, but half the bottle is already gone! This is delicious stuff - elegant & quite complex and yet so drinkable. — a month ago
Fresh & sappy, springs out of the glass with ripe raspberry, red currant, a bit of rhabarbar, with a fine woody note. Light yet quite seductive.
On the palate very fine & very fresh with juicy, zippy acidity, with the tannins framing the sappy fruit very nicely.
This is drinking beautifully already now. Delicious stuff! — a day ago
Very old vine Grenache Blanc that’s purposefully oxidised (barrels sent topped up, not sure if there’s any flor). This is one for lovers of Vin Jaune but at a fraction of the price. Orange zest, marmalade, lots of dried stone fruit with a lovely saline, umami thing going on. Burnt butter, toasted nuts, this has many layers.
Palate is mouth filling and rich without being ott. In no way fresh, but that ain’t the game here. All those, nutty, dried fruits come through, has this really lovely tiramisu thing going on in the mid palate and finish (which is long). If you like this style, this is bonkers good value! Best with punchy cuisine such as smoked anchovies and southern french fair. — 2 months ago
Picked this up at a little wine shop in Antibes a couple of years ago. After discussing and tasting Pappy and wines with the owner I ended up with this Marc and few other after dinner treats he suggested which I very much enjoy. — 6 months ago
The winery itself maybe a tad bit OTT, but the wines are always divine! — 6 months ago
